We all know that living sustainably is good for the environment and can save you money on utility bills, but did you know that there are tax incentives available for many of your green efforts?

The deadline for filing is quickly approaching, so if you haven’t filed yet…

Incentives for home energy efficiency: Did you install energy-efficient windows or weather stripping in 2010? Visit Energy Star’s website to find eligible products and tax filing instructions.

Credits for hybrid vehicles: If you bought or leased a green car in 2010, you may qualify for a tax credit on it.Visit the DOE’s Fuel Economy website to find out if your car is eligible.

State-specific savings: Check with your state’s tax office to check for additional green tax credits or deductions. (Arizona gives residents up to $1,000 in tax credits for installing home rainwater collection systems to conserve water).
