As the temperatures are beginning  to drop, it’s a good time to evaluate the energy efficiency of your home.  Here are a few things you can do:

Install a programmable thermostat.  Automatically regulating temperatures throughout the day and can save you up to 10% off your heating bills.

Turn down your water heater to 120 degrees.  Lower your water heater to 120 degrees during the Fall and Winter months to save energy and lower heating bills.

Conduct a home energy audit.  Hire a contractor to do a home energy audit or conduct one yourself to find the most cost-effective, energy-saving fixes for your home.  If you chose to do the audit yourself, the internet offers various DIY instruction manuals and checklists such as:
