We are a thriving commercial flooring company offering a variety of awesome products for healthcare, hospitality, retail, sports and fitness, education and much more.

In the past five years Mats Inc has experienced rapid sales growth in our Entrance Matting product lines. We are seeking a high energy Territory Sales Manager to develop the Denver and Salt Lake City market. This role will actively drive business at the end user level, working all of it through a network of Flooring Dealers or Jan/San Distributors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Core Focus:
    o In the local geography, the Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for working with and further developing our network Flooring Dealers and Jan/San Distributors resellers.
    o This position will actively work with key end users to drive matting business back to our reselling partners.
    o The Territory Manager will work daily side by side with Flooring Dealers and Jan/San Distribution Sales Representatives (DSRs) to develop sales opportunities at the end user. The daily focus is to maximize time in the field with DSRs presenting solutions to their existing customer base.
    o Develop strong relationships with owners and senior management at key Jan/San Distributors and Flooring Dealers
    o When not working with Distribution Sales, this role would actively work directly with End Users to create opportunities for our Distribution partners.
    o Territory Manager will have ultimate responsibility to grow our custom matting business. As part of that process, this sales position will meet with end users to conduct surveys, offer design assistance and ultimately a formal proposal through our sales partners.
    o Work with Mats Inc resources to develop an installation team to provide custom matting solutions as needed to the end user community
    o Responsible for achieving sales budget
  • Other important Activities
    o Management of our local independent representatives including activity levels, training and sales development.
    o Training of Distributor Sales people, webinars, local shows and sales meetings.
    o Active membership in at least on organization such as ISSA, BOMA or IFMA

Required Experience and Attributes:

  • Motivated, self-starter with 5 years of sales and/or sales management experience
  • Strong computer skills a plus; must be able to navigate through data and actively keep company CRM system up to date. Training will be provided
  • Customer driven, professional, responsive and able to penetrate new accounts and build lasting relationships.
  • Great listening skills
  • Hands-on type, willing to get hands dirty when required. Comfortable with a Tape Measure is a must.
  • High energy level and enthusiasm for the business.
  • Capable of positioning MI products to differentiate them from commodity competitors
  • Experience in Jan/San or matting products a plus, but not required.
  • Travel: Active and on the road every day. Not an office role!
