This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Mats Inc. When Bob and Catherine Schiffmann started the business in 1971, it would have been hard to imagine that the company would grow and evolve into the nationally recognized flooring company that it is today. Mats Inc. has been “more than mats” for many years, and this year the company is taking a step forward with a new name and identity to reflect who we are today.

Starting November 1st, Mats Inc will be Matter Surfaces.

Matter Surfaces puts design, wellness, and service at the forefront of everything we do. Over the past 18 months, we have made significant investments in the business, all designed to enhance your experience and to make it easy to do business with us.  Over the next quarter we will roll out a new sampling program, new digital platforms to give you easier access to product information, and new back-office technologies to provide online access to your account information, open order status, invoices, and statements.  Additionally, a redesigned Mats Inc. website will launch as a destination for matting, entrance, and sports products.

During this time of tremendous flux in our industry and in the world at large, we are excited about our future. We can’t wait to introduce you to our new brand and to begin sharing more about the many initiatives we have been working on with you in mind.
